Beyond an empty wooden pier, the sun sets above the horizon. A blue, orange and yellow sunset lights an expanse of sea, at ebbing tide. A flock of birds, perhaps gulls, fill the image from the top left. Several birds have landed on the wooden railings of the pier, along which stand, at intervals, several tall street lamps with glass finials.
